Sealing All Gaps & Cracks

Knowing the right products to use and their proper application comes with the over 60 years of combined experience we bring to every project.

No two projects are the same and this project was exceptionally challenging. This old house was coated with Penofin. Penofin is made from Brazilian Rosewood oil. This stain is thicker and more resistant to weather than other oil based stains. However our client wanted a more opaque solid color appearance to their siding.

This project required a heavy oil based primer in order to seal in the old coating and allow for a water based product to live on top. Our first step was to seal up all the gaps and cracks in the siding.

Two Coats of Primer

In order to insure a complete seal we went ahead and applied two coats of an oil based bonding primer.

Two Coats of Acrylic Paint

We always apply TWO top coats. We always BRUSH AND ROLL the first coat thoroughly into the wood surfaces. The second coat is not applied until the first coat is full dried. This guarantees full coverage. The proper application of the right products is why we can offer an 8 year warranty on all of our projects.
