Sun and weather can be brutal on a home’s exterior, especially at our altitudes. It gets worse if it’s been neglected for a few years on top of that. This small, once charming cabin, was a great example.
Sanding Off The Old Finish
On this project we went the extra mile to sand, sand, sand and sand. While some painters would just power wash and lay on a coat of paint, we knew that full strip sanding was the only way to get this home ready for the “easy work” of priming and painting. Without this necessary prep work, even a “great looking” paint job would last only a short while before it would begin to peel and deteriorate.
Sealing The Tanins In
After strip sanding all surfaces down to raw wood it is required to seal the exposed wood in order to block any tannins from seeping back up onto the surfaces.
A lot of painting companies do not know that this is necessary.
Finally... A Beautiful Two Coat Finish
This high quality paint job will last for many years.
